Bob joined Payette in 1981 after receiving B.Arch. and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from RISD. He was named partner in 1995. Bob focuses on science research and teaching buildings for colleges and universities, and he brings a special focus to the opportunities for campus transformation inherent in the design of these projects. Bob gained national attention from his article, “Recovering from Sputnik,” published in the SCUP journal Planning for Higher Education in 1998.

This year, 10 of our Principals will celebrate their 20+ year work anniversaries with Payette – ranging from Jim Collins’ 42 years of dedication to 20 years for Ching-Hua Ho and Scott Parker, they have committed the majority of their professional lives to Payette. Without the highest level of perfectionism that they put into their work and insightful leadership over the years, Payette would not be where we are today. The strength of our collaboration is borne from decades of designing together, leading together and mentoring new generations. May you continue to inspire us for many years to come! Happy Anniversary!
