Building science is embedded in our design process. We use a number of tools throughout the process, one of which is scSTREAM. CFD Software published a feature about how we integrate scSTREAM into our design process, which involves computations and modeling. The program works well with Rhino and SketchUp and allows our Building Science group to work with the exact same model as the design team.
Located along Boston’s famed Emerald Necklace designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Klarman Building responds to the presence of this green space to create a state-of-the-art center for inpatient care and healing. In addition to extending aspects of nature into the building through orienting views and finishes, the Sky Garden allows patients, family and staff to find healing in the landscape.
