Our recently completed MIT E15 Media Lab Cleanroom, affectionately dubbed the ‘Yelloxbow,’ is full of action as the Conformable Decoders research group are all moved in and starting their research. The group aims to convert the patterns of nature and human body into beneficial signals and energy.
To the meet the needs of the research, the space is equipped with cameras to track researchers and processes in real time, and a special operation room to manipulate and hack traditional microfabrication tools for MIT’s evolving research needs. The cleanroom consists of three major components: a gowning area, a specimen preparation room of Class 10,000 of approximately 300 SF, and a cleanroom of Class 1,000 of approximately 400 SF.

Located along Boston’s famed Emerald Necklace designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the Klarman Building responds to the presence of this green space to create a state-of-the-art center for inpatient care and healing. In addition to extending aspects of nature into the building through orienting views and finishes, the Sky Garden allows patients, family and staff to find healing in the landscape.
