Laboratory Design took an in-depth look at the new paradigm for future biocontainment facilities set forth in the Eva J. Pell Laboratory for Advanced Biological Studies at Penn State University. R & D Magazine awarded the project a High Honors designation earlier this year in their Lab of the Year awards program. Lindsay Hock’s article discusses the history of the facility, the simplicity of the floorplan and the overall design strategy.
