This year’s IIDA New England Fashion Show was another huge success with over 1,750 industry professionals in attendance. We had a wonderful time participating in the annual event and took home “Best Interpretation of Theme” for the second year in a row!
Partnered with our amazing sponsors: Knoll Inc. (Knoll, Knoll Textiles, Knoll Studio, Spinneybeck, Filzfelt, Datesweiser), Office Resources and Forbo Flooring, this year’s theme was RITUAL and we brought the honeybee waggle dance to the runway. This dance not only sustains bees, but sustains life in general as it is impossible to overstate the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem.
In the matriarchal world of the honeybee, workers perform dances to communicate with the hive. Their precise movements guide the colony to fields of flowers rich with pollen and nectar. This ritual of foraging and dance ensures the survival of the hive for generations of bees as they support their queen.
Our entry was made of upholstery fabric, laser cut wallcovering, wood veneer, laminate, linoleum, nylon (colored and virgin), paper from Knoll price list books and discarded architectural drawings, mesh back chair samples, felt, belting leather, structural furniture panel supports and screens, polycarbonate samples, drapery, 3D printed elements, paint, CNC routed wallcovering and, finally, wire.
Our team worked tirelessly for more than five months refining our concept and creating an entry that was breathtaking, original and fun. We are honored to share PAYETTE has received two 2026 Green Good Design Awards from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies—Land’s Sake Farm and The Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
