The soul of our practice resides in its people, and we are always looking for ways to cultivate emerging talent and professionals. We really enjoy our active internship program that brings multiple interns to join our team throughout the year for typically a semester at time. Today, we wanted to introduce some of our interns working alongside us this summer.
I recently finished my second year at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design where I am working toward a dual Masters in Landscape Architecture and Design Studies: Art, Design and the Public Domain. Prior to arriving at the GSD, I worked for a year as an Urban Design and Planning Intern at SASAKI in Watertown, MA. I graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Architectural Studies. Through my interdisciplinary course work at Wellesley, I became increasingly interested in the intersection between art, architecture and the urban environment. In my free time, I love painting, drawing, photography and spending time outside with friends and family.
I am from Seoul, South Korea where I earned my BArch from Hongik University. I am currently going into the final year of my M.Arch at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. I was drawn to architecture because of my interest in drawing and painting as well as mathematics and physics. Upon After graduating from undergrad, I became especially fascinated in exploring reconciliation between monumentality in a form and functionality from program. In my free time, I workout in a gym and love to play any ball games such as baseball, soccer and tennis.
I was born in Japan, and I’m going into the second year of MArch in Urban Design at Harvard GSD. I earned my B.Eng. and M.Eng. in the University of Tokyo, Japan, in the fields of Architecture Design and Building Science. After four years of professional experience in Japan, I found myself focusing on the architecture scale too much. Thus I decided to gain the broader perspective beyond architecture in my second master. In my free time, I like visiting places and taking photographs to capture and remember my feelings and the atmospheres of the spaces.
I was born and raised in a small village in Mount Lebanon. After earning my BArch from the Lebanese American University, I worked for two years in Dar Al Handasah, BLANKPAGE Architects and Hapsitus. I am now going toward completing my MArch at Syracuse University and I’m a research assistant in the performative Praxis Lab (PPL) at Syracuse center of excellence. My research interests include performance-based design and building performance simulation; my recent accepted journal research paper focuses on developing a workflow to calibrate urban energy models using measured data. Currently, I am working with PAYETTE’s Building Science Group to widen my knowledge in a field that I am extremely passionate about. In my free time I like to go on outdoor activities/wild adventures. I also love soccer and table tennis.
I recently earned by BArch from Wentworth Institute of Technology. My interests/passions have always floated somewhere amidst the in-between. I love the city life, but also love to be immersed in nature. My passion for architecture exists on a spectrum as well. I love the arts, music, craft, design, fashion, philosophy, and more than I’ll list. All of which, I believe architecture embodies. I am specifically interested in temporary spatial design, such as installations built for the purpose of art or entertainment. Most of the things I do in my free time are initiated out of my intense curiosity. I enjoy traveling, researching random things and thinking of visual analogies.
