Emily joined the firm as an Architect in the Fall of 2018. Prior to Payette, she spent six years with Manuel Zeitlin Architects, splitting her time between offices in Tennessee and New York. Her focus was the design and project management of commercial and educational projects. Emily received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Virginia and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College.
At Amherst College’s New Science Center, weathering steel screens wrap the building’s three western wings. A rich palette of deep red and purple earth tones, accented by warm orange and brown hues, complements the surrounding campus brickwork and natural landscape.
The screens feature a hand-applied, pre-oxidized Solanum patina, giving each panel depth, variation, and a distinctive weathered character.
