Since joining Payette in 1990, David has led the design effort on numerous research and undergraduate science projects including two that received Lab of the Year distinction. Working on projects primarily in academic environments provides a significant opportunity to transform aspects of the campus in anticipation of the future. David is particularly interested in a holistic approach to design and is inspired by the fundamental areas of influence within our designs and continually looks for ways in which we can bring further clarity and inspiration to them.
The uniqueness of each healing environment is rooted in its site — providing a sense of place that belongs to the local community. In our approach, each healing environment celebrates the connection with the natural world and provides a positive, supportive healthcare environment by maximizing access to the outdoors and gardens.
