Michael first joined Payette in 1994, and has since developed significant experience bringing great design to technically complex project typologies. He is skilled in leading large design and consultant teams for environments for advanced teaching, research, pharmaceutical development, imaging and specialized healthcare.
Several years of practice in San Francisco, with MBT Architecture and Leddy Maytum Stacey, resulted in Michael’s early and deep commitment toward sustainable design, meticulous detailing and material selection.
Michael is also committed to integrating research, education and mentoring into daily practice. He is a regular critic for design studios at Wentworth Institute of Technology and a frequent speaker at major industry conferences. He is also an active member of the Boston Society of Architects committees on healthcare and the environment. Within Payette, he leads multiple research, communications and mentorship initiatives.
