Michael originally joined PAYETTE in 1995 and has been involved in the design and delivery of many of the firm’s most complex academic, research, healthcare and cultural projects. Returning to PAYETTE in 2026 as a Senior Associate, Michael brings more than three decades of experience guiding projects from conceptual design through construction. Throughout his career, Michael has played a key role in projects including the University of Connecticut Science 1 Research Center, Amherst College New Science Center, Harvard Art Museums and the Aga Khan University Hospital and Medical Center. Across these projects, he has helped shape design development, technical coordination and construction execution, ensuring that design aspirations are realized with precision and clarity.
Michael’s work is defined by a rigorous understanding of how buildings come together. He is particularly skilled at navigating the intersection of design, technology and construction, drawing on extensive experience with building envelopes, detailing, consultant coordination and field collaboration. Known for his thoughtful approach to problem-solving, Michael works closely with project teams and contractors to resolve complex technical challenges while maintaining the integrity of the architectural vision. Beyond his project contributions, he is dedicated to fostering the growth of emerging professionals, sharing practical knowledge gained through decades of experience and helping to cultivate the next generation of technical leaders within the practice.
