
Joaquín joins PAYETTE with a diverse professional and educational background. He was a notable contributor to the development of FRIDA (InFRared Imager and Dissector for Adaptive optics) on the GTC (Gran Telescopio CANARIAS) while working for the University of Florida. Before joining PAYETTE, he held a similar position at Sasaki and Gensler as Design Technology Manager, coordinating design efforts at all scales and across multiple architectural disciplines. Additionally, Joaquín worked with Trotti + Associates as a designer on residential projects, where he worked on a Private Residence in St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as a resort in Pristine Bay, Honduras. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Design Studies in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College, where his thesis focused on integrating and weaving natural systems into the urban environment and fabric.
