At Payette, we place tremendous value on design process and the built work we produce, but the soul of our firm lies in its people. We come from all over the U.S. and abroad and are working across three continents. We attended some of the best schools of architecture and design. We are passionate about producing exceptional architecture, and each of us puts the work ahead of our individual ambitions. We are fundamentally team-focused, and collaboration is the cornerstone of our practice. But we are neither monolithic nor eclectic. We are plural. Our work represents many expressions from many voices, not the product of a singular designer. We often agree to disagree and can be relentlessly critical in the effort to improve our work. Such collective self-criticism is emblematic of the mutual respect we have for one another and recognition of the common enterprise we share.
Many of us started our careers here. Some leave and come back. Others have gone on to establish successful practices of their own, producing a “Payette” family tree with many branches. For colleagues and alumni alike, Payette has been a place where lifelong friendships are forged and where future spouses and partners are discovered.
