Wesleyan University - Middletown, CT
Molecular and Life Sciences Building

The Wesleyan University Molecular and Life Sciences Building (MLSB) is a new 215,000 gsf research and teaching facility for the university's biology, molecular biology and biochemistry, and chemistry departments. A modern reinterpretation of Wesleyan’s unique 1800s-era brownstone “College Row” buildings, the project design blends the rich character of the historic campus with the innovative spirit of contemporary science. A new “science lawn” at the heart of the project unifies the sciences around a new outdoor space and visually reconnects the sciences to central campus. The MLSB anticipates increased enrollment in the university's science curricula, accommodates modest faculty growth, promotes new collaborations between the science faculty, and supports evolving research and teaching methods.
