The Bio-Barn is sited remotely in the rolling farmland surrounding Penn State University. It is a 20,800 SF state-of-the-art BSL3+ facility for the studying of infectious diseases. Expressed as two utilitarian bars of laboratories collected by a faceted zinc-clad roof form that undulates with the horizon; its materiality is in dialogue with indigenous farm structures neighboring the site.
