This new research and teaching facility houses the chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering departments and a 6,500 GSF, class-1000 electronics clean room with related support spaces. To encourage interaction within the building, offices are typically located directly across from various teaching and research spaces so that students and faculty circulate along the same corridor. A large auditorium and two “case method” classrooms are located off of the first floor lobby, that will be function space for daily school gatherings and other events. The lobby opens onto an enclosed outdoor courtyard acting as an extension of the function space.
