The Pennsylvania State University University Park, PA -
Chandlee Chemistry Laboratory
The 15,000 SF program includes wet laboratories, hot laboratories, a cold room, computer room and a glass wash area. There is also a swing laboratory with a basic chemistry bench, a shared darkroom, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance area with work bench shop area, NMR 500 MHz with satellite computer station, low-field NMR 50 MHz, ESR and NMR 90 MHz, and a fermentation laboratory area for a 100 liter fermenter. As a substitute for the spaciousness afforded by open labs, the walls have clerestory windows built in above the casework to give a greater sense of space and borrowed light.
