Columbia University - Palisades, NY
Gary C. Comer Geochemistry Building

The new geochemistry building is part of the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) campus in Palisades, New York. The Observatory, a major member of the Columbia Earth Institute, is dedicated to understanding how the earth works. The proposed new building will include sophisticated laboratory space for state-of-the-art equipment (mass spectrometers, chemical analyses, etc.) requiring high tolerance environmental and safety rooms for teaching. The project offers ample opportunity, consistent with the site, for a creative and exciting design which will provide a significant, productive, state-of-the-art research facility, and capture the imagination of the Lamont researchers.
